Collective Imagination Practice

A hands-on workshop where we start building the future we want to belong to.

An Inspirada Creative gathering. Inspired by the conversations at Creative Mornings Charleston.

❋ Intentional Brainstorming

We're good at naming what's broken. We're quick to call out what we're against. But ask most of us to describe the future we actually want - in detail, with texture, with specificity - and we often retreat into the land of generalities. This first workshop will be a group brainstorm to get our imagination flowing and begin sharpening our visions.

❋ Collaborative Creativity

Collective Imagination Practice is a gathering for people who are ready to turn creativity into action. Together, we'll begin to articulate the future we want to belong to: what it looks like, feels like, sounds like, tastes like. Not as a thought experiment — as a practice.

❋ Diverse Skillsets

For this to work, we need range. We're looking for artists, educators, organizers, engineers, scientists, therapists, entrepreneurs … people who build systems and people who build things with their hands. If you’ve been carrying a vision and are looking for somewhere to bring it to life, this is the place.

❋ Guided but Group-Led

Facilitated by Jessica Vernon and Sara Nelson, who know how to hold space, encourage participation, and keep things moving with purpose. But this is something we're building with the community, not for it. So while the practice will be structured by us, each participant will help guide the direction - and future - of this experiment.

❋ A Place to Begin

This first gathering is just that: a beginning.
This will likely become a series of progressive practices, moving from ideation to structure to action. The ultimate goal is to turn our collective vision into something real. That will require a lot of different skillsets along the way. Show up once, or stay forever. Who knows how far we'll go…

I’m intrigued. Tell me more.

Date and location are TBD.
Fill out the form to let us know you're interested - we'll follow up in late June with potential dates.
And if you have a space to offer, mention it in the open field!
